RN (Registered Nurse) 1 year of experience required DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION St. Joseph Mercy Hospital is a 529-bed teaching hospital located on a 341-acre campus in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Sponsored by Catholic Health Ministries, St. Joseph Mercy Hospital has been named as a Top 100 Hospital and is at the forefront of many clinical specialty areas. Saint Joseph Mercy Health System offers urgent care for minor illness and injuries as an alternative to emergency center care. We have an opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse in a Flex position. Shifts will rotate between days and evenings, additioinally, 1 weekend per month and 1 holiday per year will be required. The St. Joseph Mercy Woodland Health Centeris a 96,000 square foot outpatient facility that houses primary care and specialty physicians supported by comprehensive diagnostic and testing services. Theurgent care center is administered by board-certified Emergency Medicine specialists and staffed by emergency, family practice and internal medicine physicians and other specialized staff members. SUMMARY The Registered Nurse (RN) at Saint Joseph Mercy Health System provide quality patient care considering age specific, developmental, cultural and spiritual needs through competent clinical practice and application of the nursing process. They serve as a clinical and educational resource to others on the unit and will assume accountability for nursing care of designated patients. Nurses with experience splinting, phlebotomy, triage assessment and discharge education are peferred. Applicants must be able to demonstrate the development and implementation of an individualized plan of care, one that involves both patient and family and is regularly evaluated and revised. Must be able to provide evidence of efficient organizational skills, demonstrating the ability to organize and prioritize their individual workload around patient and unit needs. Registered Nurses will have to opportunity to identify, develop and implement a teaching plan based on the educational needs of the patient and their family, engaging the necessary resources to assure readiness for discharge. Additionally, we are seeking professional Registered Nurses who identify their own opportunities for professional growth, has participated in QI and evidence-based practice activities, integrating changes into practice, and is able to identify concerns and initiate appropriate follow up. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Requires graduation from an accredited nursing program and current Michigan licensure as a Registered Nurse. Emergency Department or Urgent Care experience is preferred. BLS is required.
